This year we brought two lifters to Nationals: Todd, 90kg, and Malik, 125kg. They had some stiff competition but were up for the challenge. First up was Todd.

Todd ended up having the best meet of his career, going 7/9, 272.5/215/322.5, 810kg total (5kg total PR), and placing 5th in the Nation. He was just 7.5kg from 3rd place which is incredible because this might've been one of the most stacked classes at Nationals (top 8 all had 500+ DOTS). Next up we had Malik in a HUGE 125kg class. There were 43 lifters in total.

On paper Malik had a tough meet, going 5/9, 325/185/340, 850kg total. He executed when he needed to and we ended up pulling for 3rd place with his last deadlift attempt (355/782). He got it, but was called for hitching. A 3 way tie for 4th put us in 6th. The fact that this man showed up and put forth this effort is amazing especially when you consider how rough his prep was. Never in all the years I've been doing this have I seen so many things go wrong, and to no one's fault either. I'm beyond proud of this man for gutting it out and finishing the meet strong.

Next year we'll be back, and this time with a whole squad. We're coming for the podium.
